Preannouncement: CGF Computer Go Tournament

To all,

On July 23 and 24, CGF will hold a Computer Go Tournament in Tsukuba, Japan.
CGF (Computer Go Forum) is an interest group for computer Go. It was
founded in 1995 and has about 60 members, including many researchers,
programmers, and hobbyists with an interest in the field.

We hope that our CGF tournament will provide an occasion for the free
exchange of knowledge between participants, in order to achieve a higher
level for the whole field of computer Go.

As yet, CGF has no funding and therefore cannot promise large amounts of
prize money. However, we hope you understand our purpose in creating this
event and join in our tournament.


In the following we give some preliminary information about the
tournament. More detailed tournament regulations and registration will be
announced soon.
